Linkspan Signal Lights

 

  1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Harbour Master of Portsmouth International Port that the red and green signal lights displayed from the linkspans are for the purpose of conveying the following information to Masters and PEC holders of Ferries:

    Signal Light Shown
    Meaning
    RED On the approach of a ferry. The Linkspan is NOT ready for you. You may come onto the berth but must remain at least 20 metres from the Linkspan. Your mooring gang may not be in position and ready.
    GREEN On the approach of a ferry. The Linkspan is ready for you, you may proceed on for normal berthing.
    RED When the berth is occupied. The Linkspan is not ready for departure and/or the gangway is not clear of the vessel, and/or the vessel is not clear to use main propulsion or thrusters.
    GREEN When the berth is occupied. The Linkspan is ready for departure, the gangway is clear of the vessel, and the vessel is clear to use main propulsion and thrusters.
